About

Julia Jinks

My goal is to help students strengthen their writing skills to become better communicators with confidence.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Tennessee and have taught writing for over fifteen years.

After college, I produced Noon News for the local CBS affiliate, telling and writing stories and managing a newscast.

Before I became a mother, I wrote for a home improvement show on HGTV. With four children of my own, I understand the challenges and rewards of homeschooling firsthand.

Writing was my kid’s least favorite subject before I began using Institute for Excellence in Writing. It worked! All of my kids have benefited from the strong writing foundation that IEW has provided them well through high school and college.

Aside from my teaching, I have been a children’s leader in Bible Study Fellowship for five years. I also enjoy hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which provides me with a refreshing break.
